Tuesday 11th May - walk ***** - Landguard circuit – sunny and warm.
After yesterdays full on windsurfing session covering over 50 miles I was
pleased for a sunny, warm day with light airs. I managed my exercises in
the back garden while Mag went to get her second covid vaccination, so we
have both now been double jabbed now, the joys of being old I suppose! Mag
had already had an early morning walk, then walked to the health centre but
was up for another walk with no ill effects from her jab we drove to The
Manor car park to do our Landguard Nature Reserve walk. Armed with both my
cameras we were hoping to see some birds and we were not disappointed.
Strolling along the brambles we soon spotted the resident Linnets, a White
Throat, Blackbirds, Sparrows, Dunnocks, Gulls, a Partridge, Wheatears,
Ringed Plovers, Crows, Wagtail and loads of rabbits including lots of
youngsters and all under a lovely blue sky. As we reached the Orwell there
was a bit of a breeze in the river mouth as we watched a couple of yachts
heading out. Back along the wooden walkway, across the heath and back to
the van and home in time for a cuppa and cake while watching Tenable, we
know how to live!
